Back in 2004, dimana gw masih duduk manis di bangku kelas 2 SMA. kata 'emo' mulai masuk ke kamus hidup. begitu pula band bernama My Chemical Romance (MCR) ini. Gw mulai bertanya-tanya dengan teman sekelas gw yg punya band lagi rajin banget mainin emo kaya The Used, Finch dan MCR.
"Jadi emo apa sih?", tanya gw ke temen gw.
"Mereka turunannya punk, tapi lebih selow", jawabnya percaya diri.
"oooo", gw ngangguk-ngangguk aja.
Karena MCR baru aja ngeluarin album keduanya Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, bannernya banyak banget di website musik yang gw buka. Gw pikir ini Chemical Brothers, taunya beda hehehe..
So, dimulailah menggali lagu-lagu MCR. Seperti band emo kebanyakan, lirik-liriknya emang pas buat kebanyakan anak SMA yang lagi galau putus cinta, cinta bertepuk sebelah tangan atau punya family problem. Suara Gerard Way yang melengking kalo teriak, emang pas banget buat nyurain rasa sakit patah hati eaaaa.
Setelah single pertama I'm Not Okay ( I Promise) dari album kedua keluar, single kedua, Helena, makin membuat gw jatuh cinta dengan grup ini. Selain nada-nadanya yang rada spooky, video klip dan dandannya mereka cukup treatikal menurut gw. Yah you know lah, boys with wet black hair, little powder here and there and eyeliner cukup gemesin jaman-jaman abg dulu.
Lanjut ke tahun 2006, mereka rilis album baru yang semakin teatrikal, The Black Parade. Great album!

Fast forward to 2007, i met a guy, because MCR. We both like MCR (anjir emo banget nggak sih? haha). Pokoknya MCR jadi tema di awal-awal kenalan dulu. Dari situ berlanjut ke hal yang lebih manis hingga 5 tahun setelahnya :)
Sama seperti MCR yang semakin dewasa di musiknya. Kita berdua pun sama. ketika di tahun 2010 MCR menawarkan musik baru bagi pendengarnya dalam album, Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys, kita udah move on dari musik emo dan nggak terlalu dengerin mereka lagi. hubungan berdua kita pun putus-nyambung, emang karena ada perbedaan mendasar yang nggak bisa dipungkiri.

But, we kept moving on, cause we're in love. Begitu juga MCR yang mungkin fansnya banyak berkurang karena mereka sudah move on dari dunia lama ke dunia baru, mereka tetap bareng-bareng.

And, here we are on March 2013. couple days after my birthday, we broke up. Again, me and him couldn't run away from our main problem. So, for the sake of our lives and happines, we're done.
it was hard until now.
MCR kayaknya juga memiliki hal yang sama dengan kita berdua. Selang 2 minggu, mereka mengumumkan pembubaran band.
Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
